Youth Culture 65XXX

YOUTH CULTURE 65XXX – 2014 is an international meeting of young people from the age of 14 – 17. Coming from 9 different countries, Poland, Slovenia, Latvia, Basque country, United Kingdom, Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Germany . In Workshops, e.g. Theatre, parcour, hiphop dance and media the young people will learn, prepare and practice to perform during a festival which will be held in Wiesbaden. It is an intercultural learning program with different methods like language animation, outdoor education, international evening and exploring Wiesbaden and area. The young people experience different situations and challenges e.g. preparation and also to be in charge of their own workshop.

DOKU WORKSHOP:

The participants of this workshop will accompany the whole meeting. They visit different workshops, important places in the cities/ communities and hold interviews with other participants and supervisors. A short movie will be produced until the festival. All participants receive a copy. The movie will be presented at the international exhibition for education “HESSEN TOTAL INTERNATIONAL”2014. The project will be online at the arco homepage www.arco-wiesbaden.de and the homepage of the LHW for youth WI&YOU www.wiandyou.de.

The group recieves a technical briefing in camera and cut and will be supervised by a professional.

THEATRE WORKSHOP:

A play should be developted through the methods of movement theatre. The festival and the meeting will be promoted on public places in Wiesbaden and schools through elements of street theatre. First it will be about learning expressions with body and movements. Those movements then will be advanced with improvisation, forum theatre and clownish elements to widen their spectrum. It will be shown at the Jugendkulturfestival. The trainees will be cast by arco and they train young adults from Wiesbaden to be the supervisor for this workshop. There is also the possibility of a combination of HipHop and theatre.

BREAK DANCE WORKSHOP/ HIP-HOP WORKSHOP:

Together with the french Breakdance group „Afro Jass Street Dance” the participant will take part in a breakdance Workshop. It will be combined with elements of hip hop e.g. rap. Representatives of “Hip Hop Akademie GMZ Schelmengraben” will also provide their aid during the workshop. Additional dance elements can be included so that a choreography will be shown at the festival. Furthermore an European HipHop Song for the youth meeting shall be conducted.

Jugendliche und junge Erwachsene der Breackdance Gruppe "Afro Jazz Street Dance" aus Frankreich Bordaux wollen zusammen mit den Teilnehmenden einen Breakdance Workshop im Rahmen der Begegnung durchführen. Kombiniert werden soll das Ganze mit weiteren Hip Hop Elementen wie z.B. Sprechgesang. Vertreter der HipHop Akademie GMZ Schelmengraben unterstützen den Workshop.

Als weitere Ergänzungen können weitere Tanzformen eingestreut werden. Zum Festival soll eine Choreografie präsentiert werden, sowie ein europäischer Hip Hop Song zur Jugendbegegnung.

PARKOUR WORKSHOP:

Parkour is the art of efficient movement with no other tool than the own body. „Tracer“ use their surrounding enviroment to train and to improve their skills. They gain a stronger self-assessment to increase the freedom of their movement and – most importantly – to take care of their own health and savety while practicing Parkour. It is popular for creating a new sense of freedom, for providing an authentic feeling and an opportunity to “master” oneself and for the time spent together in an cooperative manner free of preassure or competition.
